UNIVERSITY LIBRARY
The University library was founded in June 1984.
The library of Mykolayiv State Agrarian University is a scientific, educational, informational and cultural subdivision of the University. It provides the students, post-graduate students, and University staff with the necessary literature and documents.
The Library of Mykolayiv State Agrarian University organizes conferences, round-table discussions, seminars and advanced training courses for librarians.
The main directions of the library activities are as follows:
- informational supply for the scientific research activity at the University;
- supply of teaching books and manuals as well as scientific literature to assist the teaching process;
- assistance in the process of education and preparation of highly qualified specialists.
The library offers three reading rooms, three reading rooms for scientists, a reference and information section, 3 departments in the students´ hostels and in the Post-Graduate Institute.
There are 3 departments in the structure of the University library: the informational, bibliographical and bundling department, the scientific data processing and service department and a book depository.
The Library of Mykolayiv State Agrarian University has 665 000 books. The books are available in Russian, Ukrainian, English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Latin, Greek and other languages. The library contains a lot of manuscripts in various languages. The Library receives 10 000 new documents annually.
The library uses a system of catalogues and card indices of alphabetic, systematic and electronic types. The library collects electronic data on domestic and foreign publishers and information centers.
The library maintains relations with international organizations, publishers, charity foundations and others.
